Sharon Wolchik
 
Sharon Wolchik is a professor of political science and international relations at George Washington University and an Adjunct Chair of the Advanced Area Studies Program on East Central Europe at the US State Department's Foreign Service Institute. She has previously served as director of the Russian and East European Studies and Masters in International Policy and Practice programs. She is the author of Czechoslovakia in Transition: Politics, Economics, and Society, and co-editor of Women and Democracy: Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe; Domestic and Foreign Policy in Eastern Europe in the 1980s; Ukraine: In Search of a National Identity; The Social Legacies of Communism; and Women, State and Party in Eastern Europe and Central and East European Politics: From Communism to Democracy. Dr. Wolchik is currently engaged in research with Dr. Bunce on electoral revolutions in post-communist Eurasia. She is also completing an edited book on women deputies in post-communist parliaments.
